Haiti Emergency Earthquake Appeal.

By Administrator - Last updated: Wednesday, February 24, 2010

On Thursday January 28th Siobhan Daly (Past Pupil) returned to the school to speak to fifth years of her volunteer work in Haiti during her studies in UCD.  Siobhan worked with a charity UCD Volunteers Overseas.  The charity has established a relationship with two Sisters working in Northern Haiti.  Siobhan’s enthusiasm and commitment was challenging and refreshing.

In the days after the talk we did some fundraising for UCDVO emergency earthquake appeal.  The Charity work directly with the two sisters already mentioned who also have two sisters in Port-au-Prince.  Some fifth year students organized two Muffin and Ice cream sales and we tried to fill a jar with our spare coins.

Thanks to the generosity of both students and staff we raised €665.53. These funds will be channeled directly to those affected by the earthquake through the two sisters in Port-au-Prince.
